The Serve-a-Thon will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009. If you’re unable to participate on that day, just conduct your family service project on another day that is convenient for you. GOALSOur goals in this national campaign are to: 1) Engage you, our valued friend of Bethany, in an experience that will both bless your family and deepen your relationship with us, 2) Bring heightened visibility to adoption opportunities through Bethany, and 3) To raise $1,000,000 for the Caring Connections Fund to provide financial assistance for families seeking to adopt children with special needs. You may join with other Bethany families in your city through your local Bethany Branch Office, or conduct your family service project on your own if a Bethany Branch is not nearby. If you want to join with other families in your area, contact us and we’ll connect your families together. FUND-RAISING CAMPAIGNThe Family Fund-Raising Campaign is the funding centerpiece of the national Serve-a-Thon. Your family is asked to simply mail out 20 or more sponsorship letters which we’ll send to you when you sign up. Your family fund-raising goal is $1,000. It takes most families less than two hours of time to do this. One gentleman sent fund-raising e-mails to 40 people in five minutes. He raised over $1,000. Another raised $1,900 with a similar e-mail appeal. Watch the video above for more information and learn why People Give to People they know. If you ask, you will receive.
